Daughter from Danang
Gail Dolgin and Vicente Franco’s DAUGHTER FROM DANANG garnered an Academy Award nomination. Capturing the reunion between a Vietnamese woman and her Amerasian daughter after 22 years, the film was heralded as “one of the best and most profound documentaries I have seen in years” by the Chicago Tribune.

Congratulations to Beth Harrington for her Grammy-nominated WELCOME TO THE CLUB. This doc on the pioneering women of rockabilly was nominated in the Best Long Form Music Video category.

Ms. Magazine Woman of the Year Lourdes Portillo’s documentary film SEÑORITA EXTRAVIADA won El Ariel Award for Best Mexican Documentary from La Academia Mexicana de Artes y Ciencias Cinematográficas. This prestigious prize is Mexico’s equivalent to the Academy Award.

Marlo Poras’s MAI’S AMERICA and Lourdes Portillo’s SEÑORITA EXTRAVIADA shared top honors in the feature category at the annual International Documentary Association (IDA) Distinguished Documentary Achievement Awards competition.

The Directors Guild of America nominated Leah Mahan for Outstanding Directorial Achievement in the documentary category for her film SWEET OLD SONG.
